Disconnected workflow
Diagnosis and treatment often occur in separate steps, across different settings and timelines.
Intelligent skin cancer surgery
EpiMass enables seamless diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer in a single procedure, reducing fragmentation in clinical workflows and improving patient outcomes.

Unmet need
For many patients, the path from suspicion to confirmed diagnosis and appropriate treatment involves multiple appointments, delays, and handoffs between specialties. This fragmentation can prolong uncertainty, increase healthcare burden, and complicate timely intervention.
Diagnosis and treatment often occur in separate steps, across different settings and timelines.
Patients may wait between biopsy, histopathology, and treatment planning — a period of significant anxiety.
Repeated visits and fragmented pathways place additional demand on clinicians and healthcare systems.
The EpiMass approach
EpiMass is developing a technology intended to support clinicians in evaluating suspicious lesions and proceeding toward treatment within a more unified clinical workflow. The approach is designed with the goal of reducing procedural fragmentation while maintaining rigorous clinical standards.
Designed to bring diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning closer together within a single clinical encounter.
Developed with input from clinical practice needs, prioritizing usability within existing dermatological workflows.
Progressing through structured pre-clinical and clinical evaluation to generate supporting evidence.

EpiMass is in early development. The described capabilities represent development objectives and are subject to clinical validation and regulatory review.
Team
EpiMass brings together clinicians, analytical scientists, and mass spectrometry pioneers from leading institutions in Denmark, the UK, and Germany.

CEO & Founder
Dr. Lauritz Brorsen is a postdoctoral researcher at Bispebjerg Hospital and the University of Copenhagen, where he combines mass spectrometry, machine learning, and laser technology to advance real-time skin cancer diagnostics and treatment. As founder and CEO of EpiMass, he leads the translation of this research toward integrated surgical guidance for keratinocyte carcinoma.
